Are you feeling a little down today? Well, you’re not alone!
Everyone feels sad sometimes, but the good news is there are simple things you can do to feel better right away!
Here are some activities that always help me when I’m feeling low:
Quick Mood Boosters.
1. Take A Walk
Going for a walk around the block can be a quick and easy way to feel better.
Walking releases endorphins like happy chemicals that make you feel good.
So, the next time you’re feeling a little down, try taking a 10-minute walk to help you feel better!
2. Dance in your living room
Did you know that dancing can be like therapy?
It’s true! Whenever I feel down, I turn on some of my favourite music and dance around my living room.
You don’t have to be a professional dancer to enjoy moving your body to music. Just let loose and have fun!

3. Talking to a friend is a quick mood booster
Sometimes all you need is someone to talk to.
Call a friend or family member who you trust and who always makes you feel better.
Knowing I have at least one close friend I can call at a moment’s notice makes life so much easier to deal with! Just talking about your problems can make them feel less overwhelmed.
4. Watch a funny movie
Laughter is the best medicine! Try watching a funny movie or TV show when you’re feeling sad.
Laughing can help you feel better by releasing those happy endorphins we talked about earlier.
The phrase, “Laughter is the best medicine,” has become a cliché because it’s so true. We know that laughter has benefits far beyond mood. Laughter can actually enhance immunity and prolong life. However, to elevate your mood, laughter can’t be beaten—in fact, the mere expectation of laughter has been known to bring benefits.

5. Have a picnic in your garden
Spending time outside in nature can be helpful when feeling down.
Why not pack a picnic and enjoy yummy snacks in your garden or a nearby park?
If you have a garden, you can be surrounded by your own plants and flowers. Or, if you find a nearby park, the green space will make you feel amazing.
Just make sure to bring a blanket or towel to sit on, and pack some utensils and napkins to make your meal more enjoyable.

6. Get some sunshine for a quick mood boost
Did you know that being in the sun can improve your mood?
That’s because sunlight triggers the release of serotonin, another happy chemical in your brain.
So, try to spend some time outside in the sunshine each day!
7. Attend a workout or gym class
Exercise is a great way to improve your mood.
It doesn’t have to be anything too intense; find a workout or gym class you enjoy and stick to it!
8. Eat healthy foods to boost your mood instantly
When you’re feeling down, reaching for unhealthy snacks like chips or candy can be tempting. Instead of doing that, try eating healthy foods. They can actually help improve your mood!
Try snacking on fruits, vegetables, or nuts instead.
Following a healthy diet means your brain will have the right balance of nutrients to work at its best. It will also improve your energy levels, sleep patterns and general health, leaving you fresh and ready to handle life’s day to day challenges.

9. See a doctor for medication
Sometimes, feeling sad can be a sign of a bigger problem, like depression or anxiety.
If you’ve been feeling down for a while and nothing seems to be helping, it’s important to talk to a doctor.
A medical professional may be able to prescribe medication or other treatments that can help you feel better.
10. Getting a massage is a popular quick mood booster
Massages can be really relaxing and can help reduce stress and anxiety.
If you can, treat yourself to a massage or ask a loved one to give you a gentle shoulder rub.
11. Quick Mood Booster: Practice gratitude
When you’re feeling down, seeing the good things in life can be hard. But practising gratitude can help shift your focus to the positive.
Take a few moments each day to think about something you’re grateful for- a person in your life, a favourite food, or a beautiful sunset.
You can even write it down in a journal to remind yourself of the good things in life when you’re feeling low.
